Urgent Update: U.S. Port Shutdown and Service Disruptions

Dear Valued Customers,

We would like to inform you that the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) dockworkers union has announced their intention to begin a strike at U.S. ports starting this Tuesday. Please see below for important details:

  • Port Closures: Beginning October 1st, ports across the East and Gulf Coasts will be closed, including the Port of Miami and Port Everglades.
  • Current Operations: We are making every effort to expedite the removal of import containers and to ingate as many containers as possible before the ports close. Any containers that cannot be moved will be securely stored.
  • Carrier Surcharges: Ocean carriers have announced additional surcharges for export cargo departing at the end of October. Please plan accordingly.
  • Federal Involvement: The federal government is actively encouraging a swift resolution between the dockworkers and the marine terminals.

While the strike may cause temporary disruptions, we remain optimistic that it will be resolved quickly and that port operations will return to normal before the end of October.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our team for further assistance.
