Please be advised of the following important information concerning the upcoming adverse weather conditions.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, a gale warning has been issued effective 22 August 2024 for the Perth coast, Perth local waters, and the Lancelin coast. Additional adverse weather is expected to persist throughout the weekend.

To ensure the safety of the Port, Terminal infrastructure, and vessels, as well as to manage associated risks, the following measures will be implemented:

  • Vessels at FPA Inner Anchorages (Gage Roads / ORAN / ORA): Vessels without a scheduled berth during the adverse weather period will be required to proceed to sea. All charges for pilotage and towage will be borne by the vessel. The Fremantle Ports scheduling team will notify specific vessels accordingly.
  • Vessels at Outer Anchorages: It is advised that vessels heave anchor and proceed to sea during the period of impact.
  • Vessels Alongside Outer Harbour Terminals: All vessels will be required to evacuate their respective berths according to the schedule provided by Fremantle Ports schedulers in preparation for the adverse weather. All charges for unberthing/berthing pilotage and towage will be to the vessel’s account. Vessels may return to berth when weather conditions improve.
  • Vessels in the Inner Harbour: Depending on the direction and severity of the forecasted winds, certain vessels may be permitted to remain alongside their berths.
  • Preparation Timeline: Preparations for the adverse weather commenced on Wednesday, 21 August 2024. The conditions outlined above will remain in effect until weather conditions improve.
  • Safety Precautions: All vessels evacuating from the port are required to stay well clear of Fremantle Ports’ approaches and the surrounding coastal areas.

Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
